Social Studies

Today, the need for young people to learn how to and engage in a critical examination of the world around them through observation and discussion is becoming increasingly important. The current Illinois Learning Standards for Social Science were developed and adopted in 2016. The Illinois Social Science Standards are designed to ensure that students across Illinois focus on and explore the relationship between individuals and society, from friends and family to global networks.
